Role Overview

The post is based in the University of Nottingham Research & Innovation (R&I) department. The successful candidate will work as part of the R&I Post Award team, providing effective and efficient research support for externally funded research through the delivery of high quality post‑award management services across the University. The role involves acting as a business partner, working closely with other professional service teams, school/faculty research administrative support and with academics and other stakeholders to ensure robust and effective financial management of the research portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality post‑award management services for externally funded research.
  • Act as a business partner, working closely with professional service teams, research admin support and academics.
  • Ensure robust and effective financial management of research and research‑related portfolio.
  • Maintain compliance with funder terms and conditions and financial regulations.
  • Manage a high volume of projects efficiently and methodically.
  • Take personal responsibility for owning and resolving issues and adapt to conflicting priorities.
Qualifications and Experience
  • HNC/HND (or equivalent qualification) and/or membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
  • Relevant financial experience or research admin experience, demonstrating adherence to terms and conditions of external funders and financial regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability, able to manipulate figures and data with ease.
  • Methodical, organised, detail‑oriented with the ability to handle a high volume of projects.
  • Flexible, able to prioritise conflicting demands and own resolution of issues.
