Children’s Residential Support Worker (Temp-to-Perm)

Role Overview

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care, support, and guidance to children and young people within a residential setting. You will work collaboratively within a dedicated team to create a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where each child can thrive and reach their full potential.

This is a full-time position (39 hours per week), involving a combination of long days, sleep-ins, and weekend shifts. The initial 12 weeks will be worked via our agency, after which you will transition to a permanent role with our client.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver day-to-day care and support to children and young people within the home.
Assist and encourage children in their daily routines, promoting independence and personal growth.
Foster positive, trusting relationships with children, providing emotional support and encouragement.
Implement individual care plans and behaviour management strategies to ensure each child’s welfare and development.
Contribute to household responsibilities, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
Participate in recreational and social activities that promote emotional and social development.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies and procedures related to the care of children.
Candidate Requirements

Essential:
Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential care environment.
Compassionate and empathetic, with a genuine passion for supporting the welfare of children and young people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
Strong team player with a collaborative approach to care delivery.
Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends, sleep-ins, and holidays.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people.
A full UK manual driving license is essential.
