We are seeking an experienced and driven Freelance Site Manager to lead the delivery of a new-build steel frame industrial unit in Ilkeston. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the development from early construction through to completion, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. There is a number of other projects following this so there is a chance for ongoing work for the right person.
Key Responsibilities- As a Site Manager, you will lead site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Overseeing day-to-day site operations and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Managing and coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site staff.
- Monitoring progress against programme and budget, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure exceptional quality standards and technical accuracy in all build details.
- Providing regular updates on progress and potential challenges.
- Mentoring and supporting other team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Maintaining clear communications with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Be competent writing and running own programs.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Site Management role within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of delivering projects in the build sector.
- Technical expertise with a deep understanding of construction details and buildability.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
- Relevant qualifications, SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
