You will join our Commercial team supporting a variety of projects covering the Nottingham area, overseeing the QMC‑Hospital Project and supporting financial management of Contracts in partnership with Contracts Managers and Project Managers.
What You Will Be Doing- Work in partnership with site management, commercially supporting sites as required, to develop a proactive site team and ensuring that contractual obligations are identified and administered.
- Vet contract documentation on receipt from the client to ensure compatibility with the Company’s Tender and subsequent negotiations.
- Produce a Commercial Risk Register for each contract, monitor risk and assist in implementing agreed mitigation measures.
- Prepare and issue enquiries for Major Plant & Equipment and Sub‑Contract packages, vet quotations commercially, negotiate price and terms with vendors, and issue resulting Purchase Orders.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment and/or invoices, obtain payment certificates, and progress client payments in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Measure, submit and agree variations, loss & expense and/or compensation events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of Final Accounts.
- Monitor on‑site record keeping, prepare and issue notices in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles, and attend Contract Review Meetings.
- Authorise and code suppliers’ and subcontractors’ invoices and submit to Finance for payment.
- Measure, certify and agree subcontractors’ interim valuations and final accounts, and prepare and issue contractual notices to subcontractors.
- A Quantity Surveyor with a successful construction portfolio.
- Educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or another equivalent commercially related discipline).
- Good understanding of NEC Contracts 3/4, Options A, B, C, D, E (mostly
A). - Member of a professional institution (e.g., MRICS or similar).
- Knowledge and working experience of Construction/M&E.
- Commercial awareness and acumen.
