As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing United Utilities’ commercial interests across a portfolio of major projects and contracts.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Commercially managing a portfolio of construction and works contracts.
• Leading post‑contract commercial activities including:
• Change management.
• Early warnings.
• Cost forecasting.
• Payment assessments.
  
  Final account agreements.
• Supporting the successful commercial delivery of major capital programmes.
• Negotiating and resolving contractual claims and disputes.
• Managing commercial risk and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Providing expert commercial guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.
• Building strong relationships with contractors, consultants and internal partners.
• Producing, analysing and maintaining high‑quality commercial and contractual data.
• Ensuring robust contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers on complex commercial matters.
• Driving collaborative working practices across project and commercial teams.

We’re keen to hear from commercially focused professionals who enjoy solving challenges, building relationships and driving value throughout the project lifecycle.

• Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualification.
• Expertise managing the commercial function on construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of quantity surveying processes across the full project lifecycle.
• Experience working with standard forms of construction contract, ideally including NEC contracts.
• Commercial negotiation and dispute resolution experience.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and commercial management systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
