Balfour Beatty plays a key role as part of Anglian Water's @one Alliance – a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and industry-leading partners delivering vital infrastructure projects across the region. As we progress through AMP8, our most ambitious investment programme to date, we're transforming water and water recycling infrastructure to create a more sustainable future for our customers and communities.
We're looking for an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of construction activities across our Water and Water Recycling Non-Infrastructure programme.
What you'll be doingAs a Construction Manager
, you'll lead site delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Working across multiple schemes, you'll play a pivotal role in driving performance, promoting innovation and ensuring successful project outcomes.
You’ll champion a culture of zero harm and zero defects, while building strong relationships with stakeholders, supply chain partners and project teams across the Alliance.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Construction Leadership
- Lead and manage site construction teams to successfully deliver projects within programme and budget.
- Oversee construction activities across multiple projects and portfolios.
- Facilitate project kick-off meetings, health checks and construction reviews.
- Support the planning and coordination of labour, plant and materials resources.
Health, Safety & Sustainability
- Drive a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture across all sites.
- Ensure full compliance with CDM, health and safety regulations and environmental requirements.
- Review and approve RAMS to ensure works are carried out safely and effectively.
- Promote sustainable construction practices, reducing waste and embodied carbon.
Project Delivery & Performance
- Lead Constructability Reviews, Project Rehearsals and Fit for Assembly sign-off activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered to quality, programme and commercial requirements.
- Support the timely management of contractual and commercial notices.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation and adoption of best practice.
Stakeholder Management
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Design Teams, Commercial Teams and Supply Chain Partners.
- Manage Tier 2 supplier performance relating to safety, quality and delivery.
- Build strong relationships across the Alliance to ensure successful project outcomes
What You’ll Bring:
Qualifications & Experience
- HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Significant experience managing construction delivery within major infrastructure or water sector projects.
- Strong understanding of construction management, CDM and health & safety legislation.
- Experience leading operational teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
- SMSTS and CSCS Black Card (or equivalent).
