This Assistant Project Manager role is ideal for someone looking to accelerate their career within a consultancy environment.
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of construction projects from inception through to completion. The Assistant Project Manager will be given increasing responsibility while working closely with senior professionals, clients and contractors, making this an excellent opportunity for someone eager to develop their technical and commercial knowledge within a collaborative consultancy environment.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Assistant Project Manager's role
As the Assistant Project Manager, you will support both pre-contract and post-contract project management services across a diverse portfolio of building and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities will include preparing project programmes, maintaining risk registers, attending client and site meetings, producing reports, monitoring project progress and assisting with contract administration.
The Assistant Project Manager will help coordinate stakeholders, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, undertake site inspections, monitor project milestones and ensure projects are delivered to agreed timescales and quality standards. You'll be encouraged to take ownership of your workload while receiving ongoing guidance from experienced Project Managers as your responsibilities develop.
The Assistant Project Manager
To be considered for this Assistant Project Manager position, you should have:
Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager within a construction consultancy.
A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or another construction-related discipline.
An understanding of JCT and/or NEC forms of contract.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience using Microsoft Project, Word and Excel.
A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to progress towards chartership (APM, RICS or CIOB).
A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
