We have an excellent job opening for a quantity surveyor or construction cost management professional to join our growing Built Asset Solutions service. Joining our Nottingham team, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing cost management advice and services for a national client as a key member of our dedicated client team. This is a great opportunity to join an established team of constructions specialists who can enhance your skills and knowledge, supporting your professional development and career progression.

You'll gain exposure to full project life cycles, working on a range of fit-out, refurbishment and replacement projects across a large commercial property portfolio. This position will enable you to develop positive and rewarding relationships with your clients and stakeholders as a key point of contact in the team for project cost advice and guidance.

Your Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Cost management of reactive and planned management projects for capital works programmes

Budget management, including cost and budget performance reviews & reports

Request and review of contractor cost estimates

Cost negotiations and payment approvals

Management and development of stakeholder, contractor and consultant relationships

Best practice cost advice to operational teams

Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills Retail, fit-out, refurbishment construction experience is desirable. Sound cost management experience on projects 500k+ in construction costs

Sound knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and planning.

Detailed knowledge of construction methods and materials.

Practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.

Sound knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks

Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written

Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments

Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numerical skillsIT literate with sound practical knowledge of MS Office applications

Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily

Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts

Ability to work as part of a team

Qualifications

Degree (or equivalent level) education in Quantity Surveying or relevant RICS accredited discipline

Professional RICS Membership ideal but not essential (support towards your APC can be provided by Gleeds)
