About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and industry-engaged Senior Lecturer to course lead and teach across our Foundation Degree programmes in:

  • Audio & Music Production
  • Music Performance
  • Live Event Technology

This is a pivotal role combining course leadership, teaching, and practice-led innovation.

You will also undertake our Academic Practice Pathway, taking ownership of our student-led record label/label services company, Denizen, developing it as a flagship learning platform.

You will:

  • Provide course leadership across the department’s 3 Foundation Degree programmes
  • Teach across Audio Production, Performance, and/or Live Event Technology
  • Lead curriculum development to ensure industry relevance and academic quality
  • Oversee and develop our student focussed record label/label services initiative Denizen as an embedded teaching and learning platform benefit ting department and wider NTU students
  • Support student progression, achievement, and employability
  • Contribute to recruitment, outreach, and sector engagement

We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience teaching in Higher Education to Master's level

Brings strong industry experience in music, production, and/or live events technology and an awareness of how each area works

Can confidently work across disciplines (or is willing to develop in adjacent areas)

Has experience in course leadership

Has a passion for steering practical subjects for lower tariff students, ideally with experience in delivery in FE, Foundation degrees and/or HNC/HND

Is passionate about practice-based learning and student development

Can lead creative initiatives such as a record label or live production environment engaging multiple stakeholders

Our Music & Events Department sits at the centre of a vibrant creative community, delivering industry-focused education across performance, production, sound, and live experiences. We prepare the next generation of creative professionals by combining artistic practice, technical expertise and real-world application.

Based at our Metronome estate, in the heart of one of the UK’s most dynamic creative cities, students benefit from access to state-of-the-art facilities, including:
