Location:
Wakefield (Office-Based with Regular Site Visits) Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 £5,000 Car Allowance Holiday: 25 Days Holiday Bank Holidays I'm currently working with a well-established and growing main contractor based in Wakefield , specialising in the delivery of high-quality new build care home developments across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, the business is seeking to appoint its first in-house Design Manager .
This is a unique opportunity to establish and develop the design management function, influence business processes, and play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of major construction projects.
The Role Based primarily from the company's Wakefield office , with regular travel to project sites, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to project completion. Working closely with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients, you will ensure that designs are fully coordinated, compliant, and delivered in line with programme requirements. Design Manager Assistant Design Manager Design Coordinator Architectural Technologist Senior Architectural Technologist Key Requirements Strong technical understanding of construction and building design Experience working on new build construction projects Knowledge of RIBA Stages 3-5 Ability to review, coordinate and interpret technical drawings and specifications Strong understanding of buildability, compliance, and construction methodologies Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage design programmes What's on Offer?
