We deliver multi‑disciplinary services and consult, design, build, manage and maintain on behalf of the council and the communities it represents. We provide value for money, quality of output, and customer excellence to support regeneration and economic growth for Nottinghamshire and beyond.

Role Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Architect with significant professional experience in a similar UK‑based role to join our in‑house RIBA Chartered Practice. Our design team has a passion for architecture and technical design that really makes a difference to our community and creates a lasting legacy across Nottinghamshire.

As part of Arc Partnership, you will have the opportunity to inform a project from initial inception through to delivery and ultimate handover to the client. Given our longstanding relationship with NCC we have seen the development of the County estate portfolio to improve the lives of the people of Nottinghamshire.

Our practice, working within a multi‑disciplinary team, gives you exposure to, and influence over a wider set of factors including the ability to collaborate with a range of consultants, clients, end users and planning authorities in the design and delivery of our projects.

There is a broad range of projects across an impressive portfolio of local government initiatives such as libraries, schools, social care and new or existing buildings of a wide range of scales. It’s a responsibility we take seriously and deliver with pride.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on your own projects, delivering superb architectural designs that protect the client’s brief.
  • Liaise with colleagues across the RIBA stages to assimilate additional information into your designs.
  • Produce a range of designs in 2D/3D using Autodesk Revit and other visualisation and photo‑editing software.
  • Manage varying workloads and challenging deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Experienced in RIBA stages 2 to 4/5; wider experience across all RIBA stages is advantageous.
  • Degree in Architecture and a significant portfolio of projects.
  • Highly proficient in Autodesk Revit for 3D collaborative design and 2D production information output.
  • Post‑qualification evidence of CPD / RIBA core curriculum topics.
  • Technical design experience working as part of a design team.
  • Stakeholder management, excellent communication skills and planning and prioritisation skills are a must.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging technical design, construction and environmental issues, legislative requirements, and statutory responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of public sector design is a bonus.
Benefits
  • Attractive package based on experience.
  • Travel expenses to and from site.
  • Local Government Defined Benefit Pension Scheme and life assurance of 3× salary.
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and additional birthday leave.
  • Enhanced paternity and maternity pay.
  • Funded professional memberships.
  • Flexibility as a first‑time employee based in our Nottingham office.
