This is an exciting opportunity to gain excellent experience in Vascular Surgery with exposure to emergency and elective services. You will work closely with consultants, other junior doctors and multi-disciplinary teams. The post holder will contribute to the 1:8 on-call rota at QMC and should therefore have completed core surgical training (or equivalent), have full MRCS, ALS and experience working within the NHS.

Main

duties of the job

The NUH Vascular department is the regional vascular tertiary referral unit. In addition to being a hub for complex elective vascular (including endovascular) referrals, we also deal with a substantial load of the regional vascular emergencies. We are engaged in performing complex vascular surgery including open and endovascular operations and have close links with Interventional Radiology colleagues. Nottingham was the first Trust in the UK to perform endovascular surgery and continues to be a driver for this type of surgery.

There are weekly MDTs where patients are discussed with various colleagues from around the Trust.
