An amazing opportunity has arisen for a
Speciality Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry
within the Nottinghamshire area. This is a 64 bedded inpatient hospital. Services include medium secure wards for women, women with intellectual disability and men with intellectual disability. There is also an acute adult admissions ward (non secure) on site. The Hospital Director is the registered manager and there is a controlled drugs Accountable Officer.

The Speciality Doctor is part of, and provides support to, a multidisciplinary team that aspires to provide excellent bespoke care to enable our patients to fulfil their recovery goals and work towards discharge to the life they want. The Speciality Doctor is responsible for the day to day care of patients in their allocated caseload, reporting to the Consultant psychiatrist, who is supervising their work.

The Speciality Doctor has a key role in supporting the team to provide evidence-based treatment with the patient at the centre of the team’s approach. The medical model of care is a consultant-led service. This post is a Psychiatry Speciality Doctor post for the acute inpatient ward. A full time Consultant Psychiatrists works on the ward and the speciality doctor will work with the consultant.

The successful applicant will join established MDTs on the ward, which includes nurses, OTs, and Consultant Psychiatrist. The maximum caseload is 16, and this is consistent with consultant-led specialist service with Speciality Doctor support.

This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week and the salary is negotiable on experience.
