Job Overview
This is a one-year locum post for an interventional cardiologist with a specialist interest in complex coronary intervention at the Trent Cardiac Centre (TCC). We are looking for a talented and dynamic individual to fill this new post within the Cardiology Department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) primarily to continue to support the coronary intervention and general cardiology services.
We are seeking an individual focused on excellence and innovation, who will contribute to the delivery and development of the coronary service including complex and CHIP cases.
- Provide 2-4 sessions of work per week in the cardiac catheter labs, delivering a mixture of elective and non-elective predominantly coronary interventional procedures.
- Participate in the rota for primary PCI and acute cardiology services, supporting the increasing number of patients admitted with acute general cardiac conditions and deliver cardiology (general and specialist) outpatient clinics.
- Join a rota (1:10) to provide Primary PCI on-call during weekdays, and participate in the consultant of the week rota, responsible for post-take Cardiology rounds rotating through the Acute Cardiac Unit (ACU) and in-patient wards on a 3:20 rotation.
- Weekend ward work contribution is 1:10 per rota basis, including a 24‑hour Primary PCI on-call on either Saturday or Sunday. Time off in‑lieu is given for weekend working.
All activity will be delivered within the tertiary centre Trust operates across three campuses:
Queen's Medical Centre (QMC), Nottingham City Hospital and Ropewalk House.
