Locum GP

Wootton Vale Healthy Living Centre are looking to welcome a long‑term GP locum to join our team for an initial 2‑month placement with the possibility of an extension thereafter. We operate across two sites – Wootton Vale (MK43 9JJ
) and Shortstown (MK42 0GS
). Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will support and care for a diverse patient group. We have recently moved to a total‑triage system, where appointments are triaged by a triage GP and patients receive a link to book with the most suitable clinician. Our practice is Systm One, paper‑light, and uses Accu Rx text‑messaging. Appointments are a blend of face‑to‑face and telephone meetings.

• 16 patient slots per morning and 16 per afternoon
• Appointment length can be 10 or 12 minutes depending on preference
• No home visits
• Flexible start and finish times; latest start 9:00 a.m., earliest finish 5:30 p.m.
• Free parking at both sites
• No additional admin or scripts required
• £600 per day (all‑inclusive)

The role will include all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

We are a friendly surgery with a list size of over 18,000 patients across two sites. We provide good appointment access, a strong teamwork ethos and an established clinical pharmacy team, GPs, nurses, physician associates, clinical liaison and admin teams. We are a tier‑2 sponsoring practice and will support any applicant requiring a tier‑2 visa. Our ethos is to provide traditional levels of patient care and friendliness through innovation, supported by the latest technology.

We work closely with community partners and other GP practices within our primary care network.

• Salaried GPs and a physician associate
• A multi‑skilled nursing team, including nurse prescribers
