Senior Fellow (Registrar) – Major Trauma Centre

We are currently recruiting Senior Fellow (Registrar level) posts at the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) Major Trauma Centre.

Job Overview

As a centre of excellence in the treatment of Major Trauma, QMC is a single‑site multi‑specialty hospital, optimised for provision of trauma care. It is the primary receiving hospital of the East Midlands Trauma Network and manages all types of injuries, providing a 24‑hour consultant‑led service. The Major Trauma Consultant and multi‑professional team co‑ordinate the pathway of care for people with severe trauma injuries, with rehabilitation commenced early in the pathway to maximise functional outcomes for the patient.

Responsibilities
  • Motivate and demonstrate a keen interest in the management of Major Trauma patients.
  • Engage in good communication and work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary professional team across a number of different specialties.
  • Enhance your knowledge and understanding of immediate lifesaving interventions by attending and participating in trauma calls in resus.
  • Interpret initial investigations quickly, including blood gas, X‑ray and CT results in resus.
  • Liaise with other members of the trauma team, from all different specialties, and document findings and plans in the Major Trauma admissions documentation.
  • Coordinate and document the main elements of a trauma call.
  • Manage multi‑system trauma.
