• Lead on patient assessment and management.
• Provide consultancy and clinical leadership to the team.
• Engage in GP liaison, MDT meetings and medicolegal work (MHA/Sec 12).
• Participate in the day duty on‑call rota.
• Drive service transformation and collaborative working across agencies.
• Include assessment of new patients and follow‑up of patients referred to the service within the catchment area.
• Manage patients within the recovery model and perform Mental Health Act work (Section 12) when required.
• Cover for colleagues when on leave and support multidisciplinary team activities.
• Assess and follow up patients with first‑episode psychosis in the Early Intervention Team and provide medical support and advice to the EIP team.

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
• MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Desirable

• Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
• Additional clinical qualifications.

Eligibility

• Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
• Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months.
• Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
• Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
• In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
