The successful candidate will be expected to undertake formalised critical care rotations and must be able to work flexibly across the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) and Nottingham City Hospital (NCH) campuses.

A successful candidate will only be expected to take part in the adult critical care out of hours duty roster. Night on call frequency is currently 1:9 and weekend on call frequency 1:4.5. However, this is an annualised total and therefore may be more frequent than this over a 6 month period. This may change in the future with planned expansion in critical care bed numbers and consultant workforce.

The successful applicant will also be expected to carry out teaching duties as required.

New consultants will be able to choose a mentor from the existing Critical Care consultant team.
