We are currently seeking a Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry to support an
Older Adults Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in the
North West
.

This opportunity offers a long-term locum contract from December 2026 to May 2027
,providing structured and consistent work within a community mental health setting. It is ideally suited to candidates with substantial experience in
Old Age Psychiatry
, a strong understanding of the
Mental Health Act
, and Section 12 approval
.

You will be working alongside established multidisciplinary teams, supporting the assessment, treatment, and ongoing care of older adult patients within community-based mental health services.

• Start Date: 07 December 2026
• Duration: Until 26 May 2027
• Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
• Pay Method: PAYE

• Deliver high-quality psychiatric care to older adult patients within a community mental health setting.
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate treatment plans.
• Support the ongoing management of patients with complex mental health needs.
• Apply knowledge of the Mental Health Act in clinical decision-making and patient care.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, social workers, psychologists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Participate in clinical reviews and contribute to service development where appropriate.
• Ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care is delivered at all times.

• Active GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Significant experience in Old Age Psychiatry

• Section 12 (S12) Approval is essential.
• Strong working knowledge of the Mental Health Act
  .
• Recent NHS experience within Psychiatry services.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent clinical judgement, communication, and professionalism.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
