The School of Life Sciences (SoLS), University of Nottingham is seeking a permanent teaching and curriculum leadership appointment of an Associate Professor in Biomedical Sciences. We are looking for an outstanding educator and scientist, with an ambitious vision, who is passionate about teaching and has a collegial attitude.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a broad range of modules covering human physiology, nutrition, anatomy, pathology and data analysis/bioinformatics to undergraduate, postgraduate and other related degree programmes.
- Develop, review and assess curriculum for Biomedical Sciences degrees (BSc, MSc, MSci and related programmes).
- Provide leadership for teaching teams, including mentoring and development of staff, and manage the activity of others in Higher Education.
- Engage in pedagogical scholarship, contribute to best practice and support the wider school’s commitment to innovative and inclusive teaching.
- Promote a student‑focussed and inclusive working culture, and contribute to the effective functioning of the School of Life Sciences.
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant biomedical sciences subject area.
- Successful track record of excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching.
- Experience in curriculum leadership and management of staff activity in Higher Education.
- Evidence of commitment to high-quality, innovative and inclusive teaching, and a growing national reputation.
- Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive working culture and effective collaboration within the School and Faculty.
The position is full time (36.25 hours per week) on a permanent basis. Job‑share arrangements may be considered.
