We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to join our outstanding Early Years team at The Elms Nursery, part of Trent College. Set within a beautiful 45-acre campus in Long Eaton, our nursery provides a nurturing and inspiring environment where children aged from 6 weeks begin their learning journey through play, exploration, and discovery. Rated “Outstanding” in all areas, we are proud of our commitment to delivering exceptional care and early education, supported by experienced staff and excellent facilities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting children’s development by helping to plan and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework, while ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and wellbeing. Working closely with colleagues, parents, and professionals, you will build positive relationships and help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring, proactive individual who is passionate about early years education and committed to making a meaningful difference in children’s lives.

Further information can be found in the recruitment brochure.

We offer a competitive benefits package which includes a generous school fee discount, parking and complimentary use of the excellent leisure and dining facilities.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The school may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants, and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media account names/handles, as part of their application.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self‑declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
