Full Time Role – Learning Support Assistant – SEN School – South London – September Start Make a Real Difference Supporting a Child with Autism

A well‑regarded Special Educational Needs school in South London is looking for a caring and skilled Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with Autism. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about SEN and eager to contribute to a nurturing, high‑quality learning environment.

The school, recognised by Ofsted as Outstanding, prides itself on delivering exceptional provision for children with a range of needs. This role will start on a temporary basis, with strong potential to progress into a permanent position. You will be part of a school that invests in its staff through ongoing training and continuous professional development.

Role Overview
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to support learning across the curriculum.
  • Assist in delivering engaging, creative activities tailored to the child’s needs.
  • Provide focused 1:1 support to a child with Autism, encouraging communication, participation, and social interaction.
  • Build a trusting relationship to help the student overcome challenges and make steady progress.
Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Hold a current, enhanced DBS check (or be willing to apply through us).
  • Have experience supporting children with Autism and/or Emotional or Behavioural Needs.
  • Be dependable, enthusiastic, and available Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm.
  • Be passionate about helping children with SEN flourish academically and emotionally.
