Connex Education are currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic Level 2 or 3 Qualified Teaching Assistants to work within a variety of welcoming primary schools across Somerset. We have flexible opportunities available on a day‑to‑day supply basis, alongside short‑term and long‑term placements starting from September 2026. • Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom
• Working with pupils individually and in small groups
• Delivering intervention sessions in literacy and numeracy
• Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and pupil engagement
• Helping to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment

• Hold a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• Have experience working within a UK primary school setting
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Are confident supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Have a good understanding of safeguarding and classroom expectations
• Have knowledge of Phonics and Read Write Inc.
• Hold a DBS on the update service or are willing to obtain one
