About the School

The Ellis Guilford School is a growing and thriving secondary school with a mission “to ensure that the children attending our school have a better chance of success than if they attended any other school”. About the Pastoral Team

Lead a proactive and supportive pastoral team, drive high standards in behaviour, wellbeing and engagement, and influence whole‑school culture through positive relationships with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Build strong relationships with students, families and staff to foster engagement and promote student wellbeing.
  • Encourage good attendance and support student success across the school.
  • Drive behaviour standards, wellbeing and engagement within the pastoral team.
  • Collaborate with staff and the Principal to secure the best outcomes for students.
  • Promote an inclusive, positive and supportive school culture.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Compassionate pastoral practitioner with experience working within a pastoral team.
  • Ability to support, motivate and appropriately challenge students to achieve their best.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with students, families and colleagues.
  • A relevant qualification and a passion for inclusive, student‑centred practice.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of students.
