Who we’re looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Maths teacher to join our Full‑Time GCSE Department at High Pavement and deliver GCSE Mathematics to 14–16 electively home‑educated students. An ideal candidate has a proven track record of inspiring and motivating students, excellent subject knowledge, and a flexible, proactive, student‑centred approach.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, high‑quality GCSE Mathematics lessons to 14–16 electively home‑educated learners.
  • Plan, assess and evaluate student progress, ensuring attainment is raised and confidence built.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the college to support shared learning and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in, and contribute to, high‑quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and best‑practice sharing.
  • Support the college’s safeguarding and wellbeing commitments by maintaining a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
  • Completed and practicing Primary/Secondary teaching qualification (preferably with a focus on mathematics).
  • Strong grasp of GCSE Mathematics curriculum and assessment criteria.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering a positive learning culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  • Willingness to undertake a DBS check and provide necessary references.
