Job Introduction

Your future is here

A place to inspire

Being part of Nottingham College means playing a vital part in helping thousands of people reach their potential. Together, we’re making a positive difference to our learners, to our communities and to each other. We’re building better futures, for others and for ourselves. Here, you’ll have the freedom to work in a way that suits you, the support to thrive and the opportunity to shape your career.

Who

we need

We are seeking a candidate with experience of supporting young people with mental health and wellbeing needs. The role will focus on working with a large caseload of vulnerable learners, providing individual support and liaising with external agencies and social care to ensure effective multi‑agency collaboration. A key part of the role will involve supporting safeguarding processes to ensure that students are safe and protected.

Ideally, candidates will have experience of advocating for students’ needs, coordinating joined‑up support, and helping learners to engage, progress, and thrive during their time at college.

We are recruiting roles at our High Pavement and Basford campuses; however, the successful applicant must be flexible to work across all campuses to support the centralised wellbeing team.

Please note this is a term time only post for 40 weeks of the year, with 4 weeks being worked outside of term time. The summer break would begin from 3rd week of July and end in 2nd week of August.

As it is term‑time only, the salary will be pro‑rated from the full‑time equivalent.

What you’ll bring

You will possess experience of supporting young people to ensure their safety and wellbeing on a range of pastoral and learning related topics. Essential skills and experiences required are:

  • Strong organisational skills
  • Confident in using technology
  • Able to keep accurate and detailed records
  • Manage administrative tasks efficiently
  • Good time management, clear communication, and a proactive approach to working with both students and professionals are also key to success in this role

For further details on this post which the job description and person specification cannot answer for you, please contact Abigail.

Interviews will be held on the 1st and 2nd July.
