The Department of Classics and Archaeology at the University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Teaching Associate in Classics (Latin‑focused).
Your role as a Teaching Associate will be varied and challenging. You will demonstrate strong teaching ability in classics, convening and teaching undergraduate modules on Greek and Roman Myth, Global Reception and Ancient Literature, and Beginner’s Latin. You will also supervise undergraduate and taught postgraduate dissertations and may contribute to broader first‑year introductory modules where appropriate.
Qualifications:
You must be a PhD holder or be awarded a PhD by the time of appointment and provide evidence of teaching ability in the areas outlined above.
The well‑being and development of our students is of utmost importance. The successful candidate will take a proactive role in pastoral support for students, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and manage workload under pressure while prioritising student needs.
This is a part‑time 29 hours per week, fixed‑term post commencing 1 September 2026 until 31 August 2027.
