The Department of Classics and Archaeology at the University of Nottingham invites applications for a Teaching Associate in Classics (Latin‑focused). The role will involve a mix of teaching, supervision and pastoral support, with a supportive inclusive working environment.
Responsibilities- Convene and teach undergraduate modules on Greek and Roman Myth, Global Reception and Ancient Literature, and Beginner’s Latin.
- Supervise undergraduate and taught postgraduate dissertations.
- Contribute to broader first‑year introductory modules where appropriate.
- Provide proactive pastoral support to students.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, prioritising work activities and managing workload under pressure.
- PhD already awarded in a relevant subject area, or to be awarded by the time of appointment.
- Evidence of teaching ability in the areas outlined above.
Part‑time 29 hours per week, fixed‑term post commencing 1 September 2026 until 31 August 2027.
