  • Science Teacher

  • Teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Working within a successful and supportive Science department
  • Delivering engaging, interactive and high-quality Science lessons
  • Planning, preparing and assessing lessons in line with curriculum requirements
  • Monitoring student progress and using assessment data to inform teaching and learning
  • Promoting high standards of achievement and positive behaviour within the classroom
  • Supporting students to achieve their full academic potential
  • Contributing to the wider life of the academy through enrichment opportunities and school events
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and enhance the Science curriculum
  • Taking responsibility for student progress within allocated classes
  • Maintaining accurate assessment records and providing timely feedback to students

Person Specification

To be considered for this role candidates must have / be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a Science-related subject.
  • Experience of teaching Science within a British curriculum secondary school.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A commitment to raising standards and improving student outcomes.
  • Full enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Completion of the Connex Education Onboarding Process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to build strong professional relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
  • A genuine passion for Science education and supporting young people to succeed.
  • A minimum of 2 school-based references.
