Academic Skills Tutor – GCSE, High Pavement

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Academic Skills Tutor to join the high-performing GCSE team at High Pavement. Working closely with GCSE students, you will deliver tailored one-to-one and small-group support sessions designed to develop effective study habits, independent learning skills, and academic confidence. Your work will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential, with a clear focus on improving academic outcomes and progression opportunities.

You will be instrumental in building students' confidence, resilience, and sense of belonging within the High Pavement community.

• Deliver one-to-one and small-group tutoring sessions to GCSE students.
• Develop and adapt study strategies to support independent learning.
• Track and report student progress to inform teaching plans.
• Build positive relationships with students, fostering motivation and a supportive learning environment.

• Demonstrated passion for education and empowering young people.
• Specialism in Maths or English is advantageous, but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compliance with background checks, including employer references and an enhanced DBS check.

• Salary: £26,478 – £29,234 per annum (FTE, Band 5, pro-rata for part‑time).
