Up to £33,487 (£27,151.62 Pro-rata) per annum (depending on experience and qualifications) + Benefits

North Notts College is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Public Services who brings strong vocational knowledge, energy and enthusiasm to this curriculum area. We are seeking a motivated individual with demonstrable policing experience or a policing specialism who can deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment across Public Services programmes, with a particular focus on NCFE provision, while helping learners achieve their full potential and progress successfully into higher levels of study, employment or university.
The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across a range of courses from Level 1 to Level
3. This will include planning and delivering sessions, marking and assessment, internal moderation, tracking learner progress, providing timely feedback, and supporting learners to develop the knowledge, behaviours and practical skills required for their next steps.
The role involves delivery across Public Services programmes, including NCFE qualifications, with a particular focus on Policing. The curriculum prepares learners for careers in the Uniformed Protective Services, Policing, Criminal Justice, Emergency Services and wider Public Service pathways. The successful candidate will also contribute to course and or module management as directed by their Line Manager.
You will…
You will play an important role in developing creative and innovative resources to inspire outstanding learning and will be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of learner progress to promote positive outcomes for learners.
Candidates should be an effective and motivated team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and management to achieve strategic and organisational objectives.
You will hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 or above in Public Services, Policing or a related subject area, with demonstrable policing experience or a policing specialism. You will also hold a relevant teaching qualification, assessor award and IQA, or be willing to work towards. You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards.
Department Info
You will work as part of the Public Services curriculum team at North Notts College, and take direction from the Curriculum Team Leader. You will be line managed by the Curriculum Manager.
