Long Term Futures is seeking an enthusiastic and committed KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nottingham City Centre from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with Key Stage 2 pupils and is passionate about helping children become confident, independent learners. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions and help pupils achieve their full academic and personal potential.
The school is looking for someone who is proactive, engaging and able to build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning.
About the RoleWorking alongside the class teacher and wider support team, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2
- Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions in English and Maths
- Supporting pupils with varying learning needs, including those requiring additional support
- Reinforcing learning objectives and encouraging pupil participation
- Promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils remain engaged in lessons
- Assisting with classroom preparation and the organisation of learning resources
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Building positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to make a real impact on pupils' confidence, progress and enjoyment of learning.
Ideal Candidate Profile- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school
- Experience supporting Key Stage 2 pupils is desirable
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Confident delivering small group interventions and supporting individual learners
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable
- Positive, reliable and proactive approach to supporting children's learning
- Committed to a long-term role and becoming part of the wider school community
- Located in Nottingham City Centre (NG1)
