We have an exciting opportunity to become part of our Personal Development team at Nottingham College’s Ruddington Campus, supporting learners within the Electrical faculty to become ‘Future Ready’.

This role is based at Ruddington Campus and involves working closely with the Personal Development Lead, Bradley Foley, to develop and deliver an effective and engaging personal development programme for apprentices and learners within the Electrical faculty.

The programme will support students to develop personal, social and employability skills, while providing guidance and support to help them achieve success, realise their potential and progress confidently into their next steps.

As a Personal Development Tutor, you will deliver group tutorial sessions, contribute to the wider personal development offer and work collaboratively with curriculum and support teams to ensure learners receive a high-quality student experience.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the student experience is of the highest quality and support students to broaden their experiences and take advantage of opportunities from a college wide perspective and beyond.

You should be passionate about student’s achieving their potential and be proactive in putting the mechanisms of support in place to make sure we prepare students not only for college life but also for life and work beyond college. You will be responsible for looking after a number of tutor groups, delivering group tutorials, meeting with students on a 1-1 basis (where appropriate), supporting attendance and liaising with parents/guardians.

You should hold GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent), have good ICT and administrative skills, and be able to demonstrate experience of working with groups of learners.

As this role involves the delivery of tutorial and personal development sessions, a relevant teaching qualification is desirable, or a willingness to work towards one.

The ideal candidate will have experience and a passion for the pastoral care of students and be able to signpost students to the most appropriate support mechanism efficiently.

This post will have a training/induction period and then ongoing training throughout your time with the college to ensure we maintain the highest standards of education for our students and professional development for our staff.

• Competitive salary – £29,390 - £33,602 per annum FTE. (This will be pro-rata for term time only or part time posts)
