Position: PREMIER LEAGUE INSPIRES MENTOR

REPORTING TO: Head of Programmes

SALARY: £25,260

CONTRACT: Full time on a fixed-term contract from August 2026 to August 2027

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Premier League Inspires Mentor will improve the aspirations, attainment, and attendance of identified cohorts of students across Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire secondary schools. The Premier League Inspires Mentor will deliver an engaging study programme, built around football, enterprise, social action planning, and Nottingham Forest Football Club, to enhance abilities, behaviours, attitudes and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop engaging strategies and delivery methodologies to engage students aged 11-18 through the Premier League Inspires Programme.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate sessions and activities aligned with programme objectives.
  • Support schools to improve student attitudes, attendance, and attainment.
  • Improve students’ skills, knowledge, confidence, and self-esteem
  • Provide 1-1 mentoring support for students on the programme.
  • Develop strategies and interventions inclusive for participants of all abilities, and those who may require extra support.
  • Support students with producing and delivering their social action plan.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of collapsed curriculum days at the City Ground.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of programme celebration events.
  • Plan and deliver the ‘Premier League Inspires Challenge’.
  • Work with the Schools Coordinator to achieve set programme objectives for the Premier League Inspires Programme.
  • Provide statistical data to management, partners, and funders to evidence impact.
  • Reflect on self-practice and continually identify areas for own development and programme improvement.
  • Ensure full programme compliance with the latest safeguarding, health and safety and data protection legislation.
  • Uphold all Foundation policies including safeguarding, EDI, and data protection.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries at all times, and report any safeguarding concerns via the mechanisms outlined in role training.
  • Take responsibility over maintaining all mandatory and recommended training, safeguarding training, checks and accreditations/qualifications necessary for the role, ensuring completion and renewals are evidenced through the mechanisms outlined.
Essential QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Level 2 Award (Youth Work Principles) or equivalent.
  • Level 2 Award (Mentoring) or equivalent.
  • Lesson/content planning and delivery.
  • Application of variety of teaching methods.
  • Engage/inspire students disengaged with education.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work alone and as part of a team.
  • Organisation and planning.

The role-holder will also have an appreciation of the roles of sport and the power of football in youth work.

Additional Requirements
  • Completion of NFF DBS and vetting checks including right-to-work and reference checks.
  • Completion of all role-specific NFF mandatory safeguarding checks.
  • Willingness to work unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
