The Role

Kickstart Your Career at Nottingham School of Art & Design

We are looking for talented, curious and creative individuals to join the diverse community of makers and practitioners that make up our Technical Community at Nottingham School of Art & Design.

As part of our Immersive Technology Team, you will support innovative creative practice across a range of specialist areas, including Virtual Production, Extended Reality (XR), 3D Software, Motion Capture, Projection Mapping and Volumetric Capture. You will bring a strong foundation in 3D software and real-time engines such as Unreal, alongside a learner’s mindset, integrity, curiosity, empathy and a passion for critical thinking and creative problem-solving.

Our technicians support specialist facilities within the Design & Digital Arts building and across City Campus, providing expert guidance to students and staff. You will join a dynamic team of practitioners and work alongside a diverse and highly creative student community, with opportunities to develop your own practice and technical expertise.

No two days are the same. Your role will involve:

  • Providing one-to-one technical support to students and staff.
  • Designing and delivering practical workshops and teaching sessions.
  • Collaborating with academic and research colleagues on innovative projects.
  • Supporting the development and operation of specialist facilities.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to enhance your skills and the student experience.

We are committed to creating an environment where you can thrive, develop and progress within your career. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative community that values creativity, innovation and shared learning.

We look forward to welcoming you to our technical community and introducing you to our wonderful team.

The attached welcome pack provides further information about the role, our facilities, and the accompanying job description and person specification. We encourage you to take the time to read through it carefully.

Please don't be discouraged if you do not meet every requirement listed in the person specification. We welcome applications from individuals with diverse experiences and perspectives, and recognise that potential is just as important as experience.
