SEND Learning Support Assistant - Primary (Nottingham)

We're currently recruiting for a SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive Primary School in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September.
You'll be joining an inclusive school that places pupil wellbeing, independence and inclusion at the heart of its approach. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
Your main responsibilities will include:- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Helping pupils access lessons and participate fully in school life
- Supporting pupils with communication, social and emotional development
- Implementing individual support strategies and EHCP outcomes
Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation - Delivering targeted interventions and learning activities
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Skills:
- Recent experience working with children or young people
- Previous SEND experience is highly desirable
- Experience supporting autism, ADHD or SEMH would be advantageous
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
- Patient, calm and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
