SEND Learning Support Assistant - Primary (Nottingham)

We're currently recruiting for a SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive Primary School in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September.

You'll be joining an inclusive school that places pupil wellbeing, independence and inclusion at the heart of its approach. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Helping pupils access lessons and participate fully in school life
  • Supporting pupils with communication, social and emotional development
  • Implementing individual support strategies and EHCP outcomes

    Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Delivering targeted interventions and learning activities
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Requirements or

Skills:
  • Recent experience working with children or young people
  • Previous SEND experience is highly desirable
  • Experience supporting autism, ADHD or SEMH would be advantageous
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
  • Patient, calm and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
