Position: Assistant Professor in Drama and Modern Literature (Teaching and Curriculum Leadership focus) (Fixed Term)

Salary £42,254 to £58,225 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

Do you have teaching specialisation in drama or modern literature across the long twentieth and twenty-first centuries? We are looking to appoint a full-time Assistant Professor in Drama and Modern English Literature to work in our team in the School of English at the University of Nottingham. You would join us on a fixed-term teaching contract from September 2026 to June 2027.

You will be required to teach drama and literature, with a primary focus on drama across the long twentieth and twenty-first centuries. You will be asked to contribute to a core first-year survey module, Drama, Theatre, Performance; to contribute and convene a second year-module, Twentieth-Century Plays; to contribute to a final-year module, Changing Stages:
Theatre Industry and Theatre Art, and to Studying Literature, a first-year survey module.

You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant area of drama or literature as well as have evidence of your ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, covering the above areas.
