Teaching assistant

Shepeau Stow Primary School are lookingto appoint a Level 1 – General Teaching Assistant for 25 hours per week, 39weeks per year.

Experience of working with SENDchildren would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be committed to helping children to succeed, have excellent communication skillsand be able to work using their own initiative.

• Providing support to children in and out of the classroom.
• Assisting with a range of educational needs.
• Providingchildren with the care and compassion they need to thrive in school.
• Liaising with parents and external agencies where suitable.
• Supporting with appropriate interventions such as phonics and maths.
• Working collaboratively with the teacher and the wider school team to improve outcomes for children.

• Have worked within a classroom environment.
• Are passionate about education.
• Have strong English and Maths skills and are willing to learn and develop existingskills.
• Areempathetic, nurturing and understanding of children’s needs.
• Have high expectations for children’s progress and achievements.
• Promote achild’s development and learning (physical, emotional, educational and social) whilst fostering growth, self-esteem and independence.
• Act in accordance with school policies and procedures and relevant legislation,particularly in relation to child protection, safeguarding, protected characteristics and behaviour management.
