The purpose of this post is to work with the Foundation Learning Lead and teaching staff to support the holistic development of pupils, providing specialist support to the teacher in any aspect of the curriculum.

The successful candidate will:

• Have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of students by equipping them for future success
• Work alongside the Foundational Learning Lead to support students to better access the secondary curriculum
• Have high expectations of themselves and the ability to instill these in staff and students alike
• Be a committed team player
• Be invested in enabling student progress, whilst also developing the students holistically

• NVQ level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience together with a working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies.
• GCSE English and maths at C (or above) Grade (or equivalent)
• Experience of working with young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills

• Relevant information, communication and technology qualification e.g. ECDL etc.
• HLTA status - Or working towards

The Holgate Academy is a based on the outskirts of Nottingham within the distinct community of Hucknall. We have around 1250 students aged 11-18. The Academy is part of the Diverse Academies Trust. The Academy prides itself on working as a key partner within the Trust, but also on working with partners beyond the Trust, to ensure that we are constantly striving to research and craft the best quality education experience which works for our students in our context.

The Academy is delighted to be on the list of schools to be rebuilt in the coming years, and we are confident that this will enhance the work we are doing within our community.
