English & Maths Trainer

This full-time English & Maths Trainer post in Nottingham serves learners across the East Midlands, with travel between sites. The successful candidate delivers Functional Skills tuition up to Level 2, preparing students for examinations and supporting progress in both subjects. A 35-hour week applies, with a 3:30pm finish on Fridays and a 6:30pm close on Mondays; term-time hours may be considered.

Salary ranges from £28,212 to £33,036 per annum, pro rata, based on experience. Applicants need strong classroom or workshop delivery skills, sound subject knowledge, and the ability to manage groups and track learner achievement. A teaching qualification is advantageous.

• Deliver engaging English and Maths sessions that support learner achievement and progression
• Work with mixed-ability learners, including those who may be disengaged or lack confidence
• Manage a caseload of learners, monitoring progress and supporting timely achievement
• Diagnose learning needs and tailor delivery accordingly
• Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality assurance
• Work collaboratively with employers, assessors, and internal teams

• Experience delivering English and Maths (Entry Level to Level
  2) English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or above
• Strong learner-centred approach and effective classroom management skills
• A recognised teaching award at Level 3 or above
• Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
• Desirable: GCSE English delivery experience Level 5 subject specialism in English
