Are you an experienced carpenter or joiner looking to pass on your trade skills to the next generation of tradespeople?

About the Role

You'll deliver carpentry and joinery qualifications for a further education provider, combining practical workshop instruction with classroom-based theory teaching. You'll help learners build the technical skills, industry knowledge and professional standards they need to progress into employment, an apprenticeship or further study.

This role would suit someone with a strong vocational background in carpentry and joinery who is ready to move into teaching, as well as those already tutoring or lecturing. If you haven't taught before, you'll be supported with fully funded teacher training, mentoring and ongoing professional development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory sessions in carpentry and joinery.
  • Assessing learner work and providing constructive feedback to support progress.
  • Monitoring learner progress and putting support in place where it is needed.
  • Developing learning resources and contributing to course materials.
  • Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop environment for practical sessions.
What We're Looking For
  • A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in carpentry and joinery, or a related construction discipline
  • Substantial industry experience on the tools
  • Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and maths
  • A genuine interest in developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching or assessing qualification
  • Previous experience of delivering trade-based training, tutoring or mentoring

Build the Next Generation of Tradespeople

If you're ready to step off the tools and into a role where your trade knowledge shapes careers, we'd love to hear from you.

A real person, not an automated email. If we are not the right fit for you we will say so quickly rather than leave you waiting.

  • Level 3 qualification (or higher) in carpentry and joinery or related construction discipline
  • Substantial industry experience on the tools
  • Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and maths
  • Fully funded teacher training
