A well-established and respected specialist within the power generation industry is looking to recruit an experienced Generator Engineer to join its growing service team covering the North West.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business with a strong reputation in the sector, working on a wide range of diesel generators and associated power generation equipment across commercial and industrial customer sites. The role offers varied day-to-day work, ongoing technical training, and genuine opportunities for long-term career progression.

As a Generator Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing, and fault-finding on diesel generators and associated equipment across the North West, ensuring customers receive a high standard of technical support and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on diesel generators and associated equipment.
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Servicing diesel engines, alternators, and generator control systems.
  • Responding to breakdowns and carrying out reactive maintenance at customer sites.
  • Performing testing, inspections, and commissioning activities where required.
  • Completing service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Providing excellent customer service and technical support on-site.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Generator Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Power Generation Engineer, or similar.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience servicing and maintaining diesel generators and associated equipment.
  • Good knowledge of diesel engines, alternators, control systems, and power generation equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a field-based workload.
  • Full UK driving licence.
