Express Recruitment is representing a special‑purpose machinery manufacturer in Nottingham, seeking a full‑time Mechanical Design Project Engineer.

• Provide mechanical engineering solutions and designs for all company products.
• Take responsibility for mechanical aspects of projects from conception to commissioning.
• Generate project‑related documents using CAD and related software.
• Attend internal and external meetings, including visits to customer sites for technical support and design expertise.
• Design initial concepts and contribute to costing and timescale reviews.
• Adhere to client specifications while complying with safe working practices and company standards.

• Experience using 3D CAD for designing machines, jig fixtures, and/or mechanisms – Solid Works experience highly desirable.
• Knowledge of applying tolerances and preparing detailed drawings and schematics.
• Experience designing special‑purpose machinery desirable.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, or HND with relevant industry experience.
• Full, clean UK driving licence (mandatory for occasional travel to customer sites).
• Proven ability to collaborate with Project Managers and design teams.

• Hours:
  
  Full time, Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours/week. (Mon/Tue 8:00‑17:00, Wed/Thu 8:00‑17:00; Fri 8:00‑12:30).
• Salary:
  Up to £45,000 per annum D.O.E., overtime paid 1.33× for hours after the first two overtime hours.
