Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Nottingham

We are currently working in partnership with a well-established structural engineering consultancy based in Nottingham, who are looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to support their continued growth across a predominantly residential project portfolio.

This role would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, leading design delivery, and acting as a key technical point of contact for clients and project teams.

• Lead the structural design and delivery of residential projects, including new builds, extensions, and refurbishments

• Manage projects from concept through to construction

• Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, and design information

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians

• Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors, and local authorities

• Attend design meetings and site visits as required

• Ensure designs comply with current UK standards, building regulations, and best practice

• Contribute to the continued development of internal processes and technical standards

• About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Significant experience working on UK residential structural projects

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK design codes and building regulations

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and client relationships

  • Experience mentoring or managing junior staff

  • Proficient in relevant structural analysis and design software

  • Chartered or near-Chartered status (MIStruct
    
    E or MICE) preferred
