We are investing in next-generation product development to serve a broader range of customers, increase penetration in international gym and DTC markets, and create seamless training experiences across our hardware and the Wattbike Hub app.
The RoleAt Wattbike, we're redefining performance training through precision engineering and data-driven innovation. We're looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to take ownership of the electronic systems that power our market-leading indoor training bikes.
This role is ideal for a senior hands‑on embedded engineer who enjoys designing, developing, and improving hardware in real‑world products and from concept to mass production. You'll apply your expertise in low‑power embedded technologies, wireless communication (BLE, ANT+, Wi‑Fi), schematic and circuit board design to deliver robust, high‑quality electronics that meet the demanding standards of elite athletes and everyday riders alike.
You'll play a central role in shaping Wattbike's next generation of connected training products, working closely with firmware, mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that push the boundaries of performance technology.

Identify opportunities to improve quality, reliability, and maintainability
- Define and maintain best practices for hardware development, documentation, and revision control
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, assembly efficiency, and product quality through better design and process control
- Lead initiatives to streamline electronics development and testing workflows
- Manage component lifecycle, obsolescence, and supply chain risks
- Investigate and resolve hardware issues across development and production stages
- Develop and execute hardware validation plans to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance
- Support pre‑compliance testing for EMC, safety, and wireless certification (CE, UKCA, FCC, etc.)
- Investigate and resolve issues identified in testing, production, or field use through structured root‑cause analysis
- Lead the design and development of electronics hardware for new and existing Wattbike products
- Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware documentation using Altium Designer (or similar)
- Drive continuous improvement of existing circuit designs, focusing on reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimisation
- Integrate sensors, displays, power management, and communication modules into complete system designs
- Develop and debug low‑power embedded systems with wireless connectivity (BLE, ANT+, Wi‑Fi)
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to long‑term product roadmap discussions
- Act as the internal authority for electronics design and development within Wattbike
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and product teams to ensure seamless integration across disciplines
