Are you passionate about additive manufacturing and excited to work at the cutting edge of 3D printing innovation
? This summer internship offers a hands‑on opportunity to work across R&D, materials development, metrology testing, and customer-facing applications engineering within Stratasys’ SAF (Selective Absorption Fusion) technology team.
You’ll join a collaborative, fast‑paced environment where interns contribute to real projects, work alongside experienced engineers and scientists, and gain exposure to both laboratory and application-driven engineering work.
What You’ll DoAs a SAF Intern, your work will be diverse, practical, and impactful.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct small-scale experimental investigations into polymeric powders to support materials development.
- Support the process engineering team in refining and optimizing additive manufacturing processes
.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve powder performance and overall print process efficiency.
- Perform mechanical testing and geometric analysis on polymer specimens produced using SAF technology.
Produce benchmark parts and generate technical data to support pre‑sales and customer applications
.
- Carry out post‑processing operations and support material and process experiments across SAF Powder Bed Fusion technology.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interest in additive manufacturing technologies
. - Curiosity and enthusiasm for scientific problem‑solving
. - Ability to work independently and adapt in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing
. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office
, particularly Excel. - Previous laboratory experience, including independent use of equipment.
- Commitment to health, safety, and operating procedures
.
- Currently studying toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Completion of Year 2 of studies by Summer 2026
.
