Mechanical Engineer (Wastewater Services)
Hydro International, part of Tarmac within the CRH Group, is a specialist wastewater engineering company operating in over 40 countries. This role joins our UK Wastewater Services team based in Nottingham, supporting water utility companies by upgrading and improving sewage treatment sites across the UK.
What You’ll Be Doing- Installing, commissioning, setting up and testing water filtration and mechanical systems on wastewater and sewage treatment sites.
- Carrying out site inspections, fault‑finding and surveys to support quotation and project planning.
- Accessing and interpreting technical instructions using mobile electronic devices.
- Working at height, in confined spaces and outdoors on live wastewater sites.
- Working away from home regularly, including overnight stays.
- Supporting work within Hydro workshops across the UK when required.
- Working collaboratively with engineers, technicians and other trades across the business.
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and regulatory compliance at all times.
- A current, valid UK driving licence.
- City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent).
- Completion of a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
- Experience working in industrial, utilities or heavy engineering environments.
- Willingness to work outdoors, at height and in confined spaces.
- A flexible approach to working away from home.
