E&I Designer
Altrad are currently seeking an E&I Designer to join the business and provide design support for electrical and instrumentation systems. The successful candidate will produce, review, and check detailed designs to meet functional, safety, and business requirements while supporting operational teams and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
Key Deliverables- Lead the development, review, and delivery of E&I designs in accordance with project specifications, standards, and client requirements.
- Prepare and maintain detailed electrical and instrumentation drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Develop and implement local design procedures and standards to ensure compliance with company and industry requirements.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure design integrity and feasibility.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior designers and engineering teams.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and best practices (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC, ISA standards).
- Identify and resolve design issues, providing innovative solutions while maintaining quality and safety.
- Support project teams in the preparation of technical documentation, reports, and risk assessments.
- Continually improve E&I design processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and third-party suppliers.
- 5 to 10 years' experience in E&I design within industrial, energy, or construction sectors.
- Proficient in the use of CAD, electrical design software, and instrumentation design tools.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC, ISA).
- Experience producing P&IDs, cable schedules, loop diagrams, and control system design.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience mentoring junior design staff.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with project management principles and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
