The Role As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from contract award through to final account. Working closely with project and operational teams, you will ensure commercial objectives are achieved whilst supporting the successful delivery of complex mechanical and HVAC packages. The position would suit an individual who is keen to build a long-term career within the Energy and Nuclear sectors and is looking to progress within a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities Commercial management of projects throughout the full project lifecycle. Administration and management of NEC contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are effectively managed. Preparation and submission of applications for payment, valuations, variations, and final accounts. Management of compensation events and early warning notices under NEC forms of contract. Cost forecasting, reporting, and budget control. Subcontract procurement and commercial management. Identification and mitigation of commercial risks and opportunities.
Supporting project teams with contractual and commercial advice. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. Assisting with project cash flow management and commercial reporting requirements. Candidate Requirements Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, engineering, building services, or infrastructure projects. Strong understanding and practical experience administering NEC forms of contract. An interest in developing a career within the Energy and Nuclear sectors.
Understanding of Mechanical Services and HVAC installations would be highly advantageous. Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a project environment. Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
