Service Engineer (Air Source Heat Pumps)

We are currently recruiting for a Service Engineer to join our clients team on a permanent basis.

You will play a key role in delivering low‑carbon heating solutions across residential and commercial properties. As a Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) systems, helping customers maximise energy efficiency while supporting the UK's transition to cleaner, greener energy.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing renewable energy division within a leading UK compliance and energy services provider.

You will work with housing associations, local authorities and residents nationwide, delivering market‑leading compliance and energy services.

The Role

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of Air Source Heat Pump systems and associated renewable technologies. You'll diagnose faults, carry out repairs, ensure systems are operating efficiently, and deliver excellent customer service at every visit.

Working independently and as part of a wider engineering team, you'll provide technical expertise while ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain and repair Air Source Heat Pump systems and renewable heating technologies
  • Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently, minimising downtime for customers
  • Carry out site inspections, performance checks and system audits
  • Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency and performance
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers on the operation of renewable systems
  • Ensure compliance with all industry regulations, safety standards and manufacturer requirements
  • Complete accurate service reports and maintenance records
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the renewable services team
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors and management teams to deliver exceptional service standards

  • NICEIC Air Source Heat Pumps Qualification
  • NICEIC Water Regulations Qualification
  • NICEIC Unvented Hot Water (G3) Qualification
  • NICEIC Energy Efficiency Qualification
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience servicing and repairing Air Source Heat Pump systems
  • Strong technical understanding of renewable heating technologies
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency principles and low‑carbon heating solutions
  • Sound understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities

    Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Professional approach with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and tenants
Desirable
  • Solar PV experience
  • Solar Thermal experience
  • Experience working within social housing environments
